Legs

Yea, those legs are giraffe-status. Other than that, this has a very good art style. Unique and all that. It would help if you had a background.

Proportions and such

The overall sketch is pretty realistic and crap, but there are some proportional issues here and there. Her left arm is much thinner than her right and her waist and butt are too wide when compared to everything else. The legs seem a bit thin, too, but that might be an illusion from the butt's width. The value all around is good, but there are till some lines too visible here and there and they and some edges look a bit rough. The hair doesn't look realistic, but I suppose the focus of this was the body, so that's excused.

Rough, but you got the main thing and show potential. Keep at it.

Jimpi responds:

Thank you. I still work on proportion. I try and try and Im better and better.

Creative

Alright. So there's the character and then there's the effects that make the piece what it is. The blue outline works well; although, it would help if, instead of just cutting it out on some spots, you managed to make it fade away. As in, get thinner. The hair has that effects that some newer cartoons do (Chowder on Cartoon Network) where it's a different layered texture. It looks good and looks interesting how it starts from the background colour and goes the other direction. I also like the white bubbles/sparkles/whatever floating about. They add to the "space bubblegum" theme.

I think her bottom half needs work, though, from the waist down. She's bending way too abruptly. Her right hand's forearm coming between her left and her breast looks confusing. It's supposed to cover up the breast some more. Shading is really good, although you ought to work on the values more until you can completely get rid of the lines to make it pop out more. Right now, it seems to be struggling between realistic and cartoony. Her left arm's shading looks very sloppy. The face looks fine and the background fits like it's a card of some sort.

Good job and keep at it to find your style.

You bastard

I was going to draw Bane. Anyway, you did a really good job on this. It looks hyper-realistic and the fuzziness makes it looks like an old photograph. Love the shading. Something about his face, though, is the only problem. I think the eyebrows are too thin. Anyway, looks cool.

Hipster art

Just because you came up with this idea, doesn't mean you should make this simple little picture. You should've taken the time to actually make something worth being in the Portal.

ClassyRaptor responds:

I dont mind if you dislike my drawings, but I am in no shape or form anything that resembles a hipster. I am working with a tablet that is probably wacom's oldest model. Being that it's extremely small, it is extremely hard to making something extremely detailed. As of now, I am just practicing by doing simple drawings, so that when I get the cintiq 12wx I can have more detailed art.

Interesting

I agree with CypressDahlia. Your style reminds me of old Renaissance (right?) religious art. The values make everything really stand out and look lifelike. Altough, something about the guy's face seems off.

Okay

The idea is there. I see it and, with the right amount of skill, can be made into a great picture. At the moment, this looks like it was drawn by a fifth grader (no offense), so you ought to hone your skills and attempt it again. Dark Knight Rises-status, knowwutimsayin'?

TheDownwardDog responds:

i wanted it to look like a fifth grader drew it though it's for a childrens book

Not too bad

The proportions seem fine except for her waist; looks a bit too thin and incapable of holding up her top half. It's got a bit of that Chinese scroll drawing look to it. Character is original enough. I really like the colouring and painting of it. If you could expand on this type of art and make big pieces, that'd be swell.

It seems you already posted this with a wrong thumbnail.

xShellah responds:

Fixed, thanks for letting me know. :)

I get it

Good movie. Nice rendition of the characters with your own. It'd got that old Disney style. Doesn't really strike me as an "art piece", but it looks good for what it is. Sort of a promotional picture or something. Nice colouring and shading. It's all simple but effective. Good job.

juan-arg responds:

You're right. This was a promotional poster in the presentation of the third issue of the comic. It was meant to be simple and eye catching. Thanks for your review.

My mom says I'm handsome.
