First and foremost, I greatly dislike seeing that shitty minimalist Adventure Time art style, so that rubbed me the wrong way. Besides that, though, the cartoon was surprisingly good. The production values in general were pretty high with the voice acting, the animation, the VFX, audio, writing, etc. What I'd recommend is that you try to form your own art style and go from there.

There's definitely something here. I do see some sort of style going on with the marker-looking drawings and limited animation, but of course it looks rushed/unfinished/unrefined. The sounds, too, would help if they were all there. The story seemed vague, though, because of the rough presentation. Keep at it.

Not sure what to think of this. The message I don't get (did they actually believe/say this?). Why only do three people that died when there were so many more? The visuals were nice and the audio, but the framerate was way too choppy. Needs more frame-by-frame happening.

Hey thanks for the critique. I guess my idea was a little confusing... I'll work on this in the future. To clear it up, they didn't really say this stuff, in my head I figured the party lifestyle of some of these celebrities finally caught upto them in 2016. Especially harambe...

Well, I like the consistent style and animation. The music doesn't fit too much and it gets compressed pretty badly. Fiddle with the Publish settings to get better audio. And you really shouldn't be uploading tests/unfinished works.

Very funny and imaginative. Yea, keep at it and you're good to go, bruh.

Most ecxellent

I don't/haven't watched either show, but I still enjoyed this cartoon. The art was a little spastic, but still entertaining and I especially liked the increased detail on the reaper, although his hands kept switching from 4 to 5 fingers. Extra special points for the Greek. I got a little ticked at the original mispronunciations, but then I heard actual Greek, so that was funny/cool.

Well, I see the visuals that you're trying to go for, and they mostly work, but the motion tweening puppetry falls short because of how limited it is. The hand holding the sword is open, the 3D (?) legs look weird, there's no turning of the arms, and the rate at which he bobs up and down and his legs move aren't synced. Needs more work, homeboy. Also, since you cut it short, you should've come up with some sort of presentation to turn it into more of a trailer or something.

ChrisMckiernan responds:

Thanks for your input. I agree with you that the character is limited. His arms and legs are each 3 segments. I was experimenting and trying to push the limits by making a 2d layer from photoshop look 3d. The open hands was sort of intentional. I wasn't going for realism and I didn't have time to make a closed hand. This animation was my first attempt at making a front view sneak walk cycle and I had trouble getting it to look right. The reason for no turning of the arms is because rotating a (thin) 2d layer in after effects would make the arms disappear into the dark background. Which is why next time I'm either going full 3d using either maya or blender. Or I might make a simpler 2d character doing less complicated actions. The reason why I decided not to turn it into a movie trailer (it gives off that vibe) is because I would have to actually make a movie and I'm burnt out and have artists block and want to move on to other future projects. So finally, this is just an animation and nothing more.

Well, I will echo what the other person and say that this is something people were making more than ten years ago. Besides that, the animation and art style were very good. I can forgive the lip-synching since you said it was first done in a different language. Besides, your accent sounds comedic. Other than that, I didn't find any of it funny until the flag at the very end, but just as a dumb joke. Overall, it's alright.

Thanks for honest review. ;)

It's excellent

My dude, no worries about it being "amatuerish" by your standards. Even if you were a novice at animating, it's all drawn very well and there aren't any awkward visuals anywhere. It's clear that this is your style at an earlier stage, the script is funny, and your voice acting is obviously intentionally bad. Hiccup's voice is totally awkward like that, anyway

KeeperOfPork responds:

Bad acting is only kind of acting I can do. Thanks though! :)

You crazy bastard

You know, it really is a spectacle to see a legendary account on Newgrounds return out of nowhere with something. And this is just gold. Classic NG material and very well done with the script and timing and editing. Hope to see you in another decade, homeboy.

My mom says I'm handsome.
