I've had enough

The BBS (mainly General) here is filled with some of the most narrow-minded, self-centred, hateful and idiotic cry-baby cunts I've had the displeasure of knowing. You people are amongst the scum of the earth and make the place almost unbearable. I enjoy spending a lot of my time on there joking and screwing around and discussing things, but some of you have nothing better to do than incite your circle-jerkery, shut down peoples' views while shoving your own introverted beliefs down their throats and drive everyone away. Definitely one of the reasons why there's less activity on the forums these days. Enjoy it because you'll be seeing a lot less of me. I might even have my posts deleted to leave all that shit behind. You can say whatever you want because I don't care anymore. Maybe now I can try to be a little more productive.

EDIT: thank you to whichever mod locked that thread. Leaving the forum actually feels like a burden off my back. On to "productivity".

Some people nowadays, they find something they really enjoy and worship it.
If anything else is remotely in the vicinity of the same humor or drawing,

I've had it happen on my own submissions. Some guy saying I was trying to sound like Stamper and Egoraptor. There are only so many voices a person can make, and if I happen to sound like them sometimes, it might be intentional or it might not, don't assume it.

If this is the sort of shit you're talking about, I've seen that shit all across the internet. The simple minded people who have to go around and sing the praises of their idols and put everyone else down for trying to do what they love. I don't have anything against fans advertising their idols, but jeezus, some of them really take it too far. They enjoy new cartoons by different people less, because they always compare with their idols, so they can't really discover anything descent anymore.

An interesting place for a rant. I get what you're saying, but you don't have to be a loyal follower to be able to point these things out. Many people rip off of others so blatantly that you don't even need them to admit it. I saw the thumbnails for your movies (before you deleted them?) and the art style lookout like a messier version of Spazkid, who kinda copied Egoraptor but put his own twist on it. If you draw enough, you'll eventually crap out your own art style. You can take inspiration and techniques from others, but still keep it unique. One thing all these people have in common is expression; it makes for comedy gold. I'm trying to do that, too, but with my own look. Try doing that. It may look similar, but that's because everyone does it. Or go for something completely different.

ColonelMagus' comment is interesting, as is your response, because CM seems to be implying that copying others is a bad thing. Yet, I'm of a mind, like you, to think that there are very few people out there who are inherently original and creative. The rest of us have to settle for copying some of the more successful ideas and morphing them into our own original content over time. A mutation, if you will.

As far as the BBS thing is concerned, you have your own fragile mind to blame. If something doesn't please you or you stumble upon something you find insulting, nothing forces you to endure it, especially not on the internet. Retreating does not make you a coward, it makes you a wise man for not wasting time arguing with an idiot who's been mastering the craft of being a moron for far longer than you have. Arguing with such individuals is pointless. If you still insist on doing so, then any frustration you experience thereafter is your fault and yours alone, as the "narrow-minded, self-cent(e)red, hatefukl and idotic cry-baby cunts" whos drivel you endure are a direct result of your stubborness, and not their presence, which is vindicated by the right of free speech, regardless of how crass and base their speech may be.

It is your duty to leave and/or ignore any parties you find unworthy of both your time and words.

Indeed. Copying may be too strong a word, but it definitely is some sort of queues that we're taking from others. Some do that while others outright replicate in a poor manner. That's how everything has been for eternity. As for the BBS, I was amongst the most active, so I would get much of the circle jerking. Eh. I'll be ignoring controversial topics from now on.
