The colours were nice... The animation was okay... but the jokes were not funny at all. Sorry, fam.

I love you. Excellent use of Francis. Obviously it'd be nicer to have more refined visuals, but you managed to get enough in there.

Arozura responds:

thank you <3

Damn, son, this was professional. My only two negatives would be that the audio in general is pretty compressed (doesn't sound clear) and that you should've given this a proper name. "Fan Animation" is a title where I expect the animation to be ass. It's why I hesitated to click on this in the first place.

booksuny responds:

I am Korean and I am not good at English.
So I didn't know that " fan animation " could be negative.
Thank you for advice!

Not sure what to think of this. The message I don't get (did they actually believe/say this?). Why only do three people that died when there were so many more? The visuals were nice and the audio, but the framerate was way too choppy. Needs more frame-by-frame happening.

chubbychebbs responds:

Hey thanks for the critique. I guess my idea was a little confusing... I'll work on this in the future. To clear it up, they didn't really say this stuff, in my head I figured the party lifestyle of some of these celebrities finally caught upto them in 2016. Especially harambe...

Well, I see the visuals that you're trying to go for, and they mostly work, but the motion tweening puppetry falls short because of how limited it is. The hand holding the sword is open, the 3D (?) legs look weird, there's no turning of the arms, and the rate at which he bobs up and down and his legs move aren't synced. Needs more work, homeboy. Also, since you cut it short, you should've come up with some sort of presentation to turn it into more of a trailer or something.

ChrisMckiernan responds:

Thanks for your input. I agree with you that the character is limited. His arms and legs are each 3 segments. I was experimenting and trying to push the limits by making a 2d layer from photoshop look 3d. The open hands was sort of intentional. I wasn't going for realism and I didn't have time to make a closed hand. This animation was my first attempt at making a front view sneak walk cycle and I had trouble getting it to look right. The reason for no turning of the arms is because rotating a (thin) 2d layer in after effects would make the arms disappear into the dark background. Which is why next time I'm either going full 3d using either maya or blender. Or I might make a simpler 2d character doing less complicated actions. The reason why I decided not to turn it into a movie trailer (it gives off that vibe) is because I would have to actually make a movie and I'm burnt out and have artists block and want to move on to other future projects. So finally, this is just an animation and nothing more.

Well, I will echo what the other person and say that this is something people were making more than ten years ago. Besides that, the animation and art style were very good. I can forgive the lip-synching since you said it was first done in a different language. Besides, your accent sounds comedic. Other than that, I didn't find any of it funny until the flag at the very end, but just as a dumb joke. Overall, it's alright.

DeadFlyFromMoon responds:

Thanks for honest review. ;)

It's excellent

My dude, no worries about it being "amatuerish" by your standards. Even if you were a novice at animating, it's all drawn very well and there aren't any awkward visuals anywhere. It's clear that this is your style at an earlier stage, the script is funny, and your voice acting is obviously intentionally bad. Hiccup's voice is totally awkward like that, anyway

KeeperOfPork responds:

Bad acting is only kind of acting I can do. Thanks though! :)

You had Kyle Hebert voice this? :O

Anyway, very well made. You tied the two universes together with nods to everything and animated it faithfully to the opening.

notrachelable responds:

I did my best to meld the two series together, glad you like it!

And yes, Kyle was gracious enough to lend me his voice to help give this a little more authenticity! :D

Had to look into the backstory of this, but you did a great job of presenting it. The character models, background, and animations were all smooth and well done, and perfectly believable, matching the comedy and awkwardness of the situation.

lucifersam01 responds:

thank you ! :D

Very nice, Mr. Falco

Your animation gets better and better with each cartoon. Your writing, too, is sharp, along with the characters' charm, and you did a good job of taking an extremely cliched setting and characters and making it unique and funny. The art style is the same and the colour a bit dull, but the rest of it is all there.

It's time to get a new microphone, though. Plz.

ScottFalco responds:

Yeah Im gonna hire someone to pick colors for me (cuz im actually partially colorblind)

and I WANNA GET A NEW MIC, but alas, that costs money, which I don't havve

My mom says I'm handsome.
